I'm having issues using SMTP from Google Apps that requires TLS (to send emails from Cyn.in when creating accounts). Has anyone been able to use Google Apps smtp successfully with Cyn.in? My settings are correct and it keeps timing out.

No, this is currently not possible, TLS Authed SMTP is not supported by underlying components. Can't you use the inbuilt localhost SMTP server (we package exim4) instead?

I'd be happy to use exim4. Is cyn.in not using exim4? And was it installed with OpenSSL or GnuTLS? If this is a matter of creating a cert and forcing TLS, I'm happy to give it a shot. All mail sent from localhost through other servers, even if authenticated without encryption is ending up in the spam folder, though.

I'm running Cyn.in on an internal network and want to use an external email address. I had issues attempting to use gmail (user added but did not recieve email), so I purchased a new domain just for email. My new domain requires authentication for imap, pop & smtp. It doesn't require SSL or TLS, but I'd certainly prefer to use it. I tried to use the new address, and no email is being sent - I'm assuming because there's no authentication with Cyn.in? Is this correct? is there a workaround? Thanks
