How to backup and restore cynin to different machine

Could anyone help me on this?
What I want to do is as follows:
- With a smoothly running cynin system (virtual appliance), I want to back up all the database of this cynin system to a file/folder on computer? How can I do it?
- How to import that database (exported as above) to another cynin system running on different machine. For example, I will install a fresh copy on cynin on a virtual machine. After installing the fresh copy (with any user-create data on it), I want to import database exported as above (this exported database is filled with data I create while using cynin).
Is there any way to do this. Thanks in advance for any help.

For backup, you should be running a cron job that executes the binary at /home/cynin/buildout/bin/backup. This creates incremental backups with 10 prior backups retained. A separate binary named snapshotbackup can also be used to take a full backup of your instance.

To move your data to a new server, follow this guide: http://www.cynapse.com/comm[…]0.x-to-2.1-vmware-appliance
