Hello,

I was wondering if it is possible to install Gnome or XFCE desktops on the appliance build? if it possible, how? I don't know a lot about Linux so if someone can give me instructions on how to do this or point me to where i can find the steps it would be most appreciated.

Second, How do I setup a backup? I want to backup the entire server weekly and have daily incremental backups saved on our NAS.the server that Cynapse is installed on does not have a backup device attached.

last (for now) , I realize that a lot of work was put into the design of the system. I wanted to know how can I change the color scheme / skin? We would like the system to be in shades of blue instead of green.

While technically it *is* possible to install Gnome or XFCE desktops on the appliance, do note that it is not recommended for use in that manner, Cyn.in needs a dedicated server. I believe the command would be as shown here: http://www.linuxquestions.org/[…]/

The backup command should be wired to do a daily or even twice-daily backup by creating a crontab entry to /home/cynin/buildout/bin/backup
Backups will land in the /home/cynin/buildout/var/backups folder. You can either directly mount that (symlink) to your NAS, or sync it.

For color and theme customization have a look at my previous comment on banners.css usage.
