¿How can I move a space inside another one? I'm using in a community oriented setup where spaces are working as emergent ways of organization for interaction. What I mean is that we start putting content in a space and other and then we see that they can be part of a bigger space. I don't want to use smart collections for that organization because what I wan't is to keep the lateral bar clean after this bottom-up organization. For the moment the only way I have found is to export the content of a space, create the same space inside the new and bigger one and import the contents. Is this the only way?

Sorry, this should be on Users' Space. Anyway, any help is appreciated.

I found it. In the contents options you can select a space, copy it and then paste it in the intended space. I just see that takes a lot of time making this, more that the time that takes moving things from recycle bin to other places. May be it was my browser. Anyway, should be nice to have a move operation that facilitate putting content in new places with out cut, paste and delete operations, so you have one operation instead of three.

Yeah, that's the way - for moving folderishes like Space in, you have to do it from the Manage -> Contents screen. This area (bulk item management) needs improvement, will try to schedule it soon.

Regarding why it takes time: It takes time to do the move operation on the server, especially when the number of items being moved is large. The point is, when you move 1 Space, all items, and Spaces *within* it, have to be moved as well. Prior to moving, they have to be checked for references and whether the referenced items are being moved also, and so on.

Also, if you're doing a "big" move, then you should take a backup before doing it, in case there are any problems. What problems can happen? Things like transaction time-outs (for extremely large folders) and so on are possible. Also, it gets more complicated when other people are using the same Space that you're moving, or when somebody has edit locks or WebDAV locks on objects within the Space.
